Our amgdalya becomes soothed and produces happy hormones that helps engage our frontal cortex- thinking is back online.
Being able to be compassionate to ourselves is integral in soothing our system and reducing our emotionally driven responses to engage the thinking brain- we are more likely to make rational decisions when we engage our thinking brain. Compassion also helps us to build stronger and rational connections with others.
